The Base(9) Architecture: Mathematical Derivation of a Nine-Organ Computational Framework and Its Convergence with Mammalian Neuroanatomy

Abstract

We present a mathematical derivation showing that hierarchical ternary processing across five compression levels (L1-L5) necessarily produces nine functionally distinct processing units. This result maps with remarkable precision onto nine major functional regions of the mammalian brain. The architecture was not designed by reference to biology; the biological correspondence was discovered post-derivation. The convergence between mathematical necessity and 500 million years of evolutionary optimisation constitutes independent validation that Base(9) represents a fundamental attractor in the design space of intelligent systems.
